The Early Years experience at Pannal Primary School is designed to help children settle, flourish and begin their learning journey with confidence.

Amelia Carter’s story reflects the nurturing and child-centred approach taken in the Early Years Foundation Stage. From the very beginning, children are supported to develop curiosity, independence and positive learning behaviours in a creative and adaptable environment.

The school’s Early Years provision focuses on supporting each child holistically. Learning opportunities are designed to encourage exploration, communication, imagination and problem-solving, helping children build the skills they need for a successful transition through school.

At Pannal, children are introduced early to the school’s wider values and “Pannal-shaped” approach. They are encouraged to show respect, work with others, build self-belief and enjoy success in areas that interest them. This helps establish strong foundations for both personal growth and future learning.

Amelia’s experience demonstrates how Pannal Primary School works to ensure that younger pupils feel valued, supported and excited to learn. By creating a positive and engaging start to school life, the Early Years team helps children take their first steps with confidence.
